How God is speaking to us...

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

This has been our prayer and God has graciously been giving us His incredible joy, peace, and hope as we trust in Him.
It is also our prayer for you!

Heading South

I'm updating our blog a little early this week because I'm flying to Palm Springs tomorrow morning for nine days. It will be wonderful to be with my folks again, although I know that Bob and I will miss one another more than ever since we've been together almost 24 hours a day for the past year.

Unfortunately, Bob is unable to go due to his need to be on dialysis. But there is good news regarding his dialysis. Next week he will be transferred from Surrey Memorial Hospital to Panorama Community Clinic to receive his dialysis. This is a relatively new facility just five miles from us, less that half the distance that he now travels to the hospital. His schedule will be adjusted slightly, changing one of his treatments from Sunday afternoon to Saturday evening. We're so pleased about this, as it will mean that we don't have to rush out of church on Sunday mornings, but can stay around to visit and also have friends over to our home for lunch!!

We've had so many guests around our dining room table lately, it's beginning to feel awfully quiet!! Vi, Bart, Lois, and Duane all left on Monday after three wonderful days together. Talking, laughing, playing games, watching games--NFL football, and of course eating together filled our days. Everyone sampled our "favourite" cocktail--carrot/apple juice--with mixed reviews!!

The occasions are far too few when Bob, Vi, and Lois are together. That makes these events SO very special.

It was great to have our nephew Bart with us again. He was the first of all the family to come and visit us just after Bob's diagnosis and release from the hospital back in early May. He's the oldest of our nieces and nephews, and definitely the tallest. Bob isn't very short, but he sure looks like a midget beside Bart, even with Bart trying to crouch down a bit!!

KIM began to feel much better about ten days after her chemo and now knows what to expect in terms of side-effects. She'll have her next chemo in nine days and is enjoying more energy until then. Tim's been doing an awesome job caring for the kids, horses, and Kim. Colby told us on the phone that his dad is a "SuperDad" and we agree!! Thanks so much for praying for them.

I'm looking so forward to being with Mom and Dad and also seeing Jim, who will come out to Palm Springs for a couple of days next week. You can be sure that I'll be taking pictures to include in my next update.

We continue to "Give Thanks" to the Lord and our dear family and friends for your love and prayers.
