How God is speaking to us...

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

This has been our prayer and God has graciously been giving us His incredible joy, peace, and hope as we trust in Him.
It is also our prayer for you!

So thankful!!

We've had a wonderful week, beginning last Friday when we drove to Fairhaven near Vernon for their annual board retreat and dedication of the beautiful new lodge. Bob even had his larger chemo treatment on Friday morning and we were in the car by noon heading out on the five hour trip up to Fairhaven. Bob felt quite well and drove the bulk of the way through the gorgeous mountains.

It was a wonderful weekend of celebration and thanks to God for all He has done at Fairhaven. Here are a couple of pictures of the lodge nestled on the side of the mountain overlooking Vernon and halfway up the mountain to the ski resort Silver Star.

This is the view of the lodge as you round the corner after entering the grounds at Fairhaven. The view from those massive windows onto the valley below and two lakes is absolutely breathtaking.

And here is the back of the building which really is the main entrance. This lodge, named the Charles Shepson Lodge, honouring the founder of Fairhaven Ministries, will greatly enhance the retreat's facilities and offerings.

This is the cottage where Bob and I stayed for three nights--the Country Cottage. What a peaceful place of rest and renewal. Bob was able to participate in all of the events of the weekend and we drove home early Monday morning so that he could get dialysis that afternoon, having missed it on Saturday. He was none the worse for having had chemo as well as missing his regular dialysis. MUCH to be thankful for.

Then on Tuesday evening our son David arrived from western NY to spend five days with us. What a treat!! We're having a wonderful time together--just relaxing, getting caught up, going for walks, and enjoying good food--EVEN some very healthy juice we made using kale, spinach, celery, asparagus, and apples. Actually, David and I enjoyed it while Bob finally agreed to take a sip, which was all that he wanted!!

Bob much preferred the back and shoulder rubs that David lovingly administered while we watched the evening news!!

Yesterday we drove into Vancouver and walked in the drizzle at Kitsilano Beach. David lived in Vancouver in the '90's when he studied at UBC and played in the VSO for a few years, so this beautiful city has a special place in his heart.

This morning David went with Bob for his chemo treatment and then out for a father/son lunch together. He'll return home to Ann and the boys on Sunday evening. Then in mid July all four are going to take a roadtrip here from NY, spend a week with us, and then drive to Regina to spend a week with Barbie, Tim, Kim and their four. The cousins can hardly wait!!

We continue to marvel how well Bob is doing and his doctors are very pleased. We are FULL of thanks to the Lord.
