How God is speaking to us...

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

This has been our prayer and God has graciously been giving us His incredible joy, peace, and hope as we trust in Him.
It is also our prayer for you!

Canada Day Weekend

I haven't updated our blog since Monday, hoping I would have more definitive news to share in regards to Bob's treatment. His condition is really quite complicated with both the cancer and kidney failure as serious threats to his life simultaneouly, and the possible treatment for each one exacerbating the other condition. Because the side-affects are similar to both chemo and his kidney dysfunction, it's hard to determine which is the more serious disease that needs particular attention. However, this weekend we both feel quite certain that the kidney dysfunction is the one that needs to be more vigorously addressed at present.

Bob will be having an ultrasound this week to find out whether the stent that was put through his left ureter way back at the end of March is still doing its job or whether it needs to be replaced. His kidney function has dropped to 12% from 15% in the past few weeks. Consequently he is always very fatigued.

Amazingly enough, Bob looks quite good in the pictures I take and send. Of course, I'm not going to be circulating pictures of him that are uncomplimentary!!! But he definitely looks better than he feels. Thankfully his spirits are good and we very much enjoy life together when he's not sleeping!!

We are planning to fly to Regina July 14 to 20 to see our kids and grandkids and are hoping and praying that Bob will feel well enough to go and that the immediate threat to his body has been dealt with, even if temporarily.

My brother Jim flew up from California on Wednesday and will be here for a week. It's been great having him here--mostly just enjoying hanging out together at home or down at the beach.

And Barbie's arriving on Monday evening for eight days!! Again, we have so much to be thankful for.
