How God is speaking to us...

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

This has been our prayer and God has graciously been giving us His incredible joy, peace, and hope as we trust in Him.
It is also our prayer for you!

The Sun is Shining . . .

. . . both outside and inside!! After a few weeks of cool weather, it seems that real summer is finally coming to the Vancouver area. Bob and I ate our lunch on the patio today, basking in the warmth--he with his sweatshirt still on--but at least his "dome" was exposed!!

. . . AND the sun in shining inside too as we're excitedly awaiting the arrival of Tim, Kim, Colby, Gracyn, Carson, and Mykenna late this evening. They're on their way here from Regina for four wonderful days!! They'll be staying in the guest suite in our condo complex and all is in readiness. The guest suite is just down the hall from our little apt. so we'll be hearing the pitter patter of little feet and happy voices as they make their way down the hall to have breakfast with Papa and Grammy in the morning.

Then Vi will be spending the weekend with us as well. She's in Vancouver today on business and is able to spend a couple of days here. It's been so great to have visits from all of our children and two out of our four siblings. Barb and Buddy hope to come up from Texas in September, and plans are being made for Lois and Duane to make their way here from South America sometime in the next few months.

Yesterday Bob had two doctor's appointments. The first was with his oncologist. Although the plan was to resume chemo this week, she suggested (and we heartily agreed) that chemo be delayed for another three weeks until both Tim and David and their families have been here. She observed that Bob was feeling pretty good and didn't want his body to be given a "whack" when he wanted to be able to enjoy the grandchildren.

Then Bob saw our family doctor. Both doctors are very supportive of our desire to get on dialysis if the nephrologist approves. Bob will see the nephrologist on Tuesday. Since his kidney function is continuing to decrease we're hoping and praying that the specialist will push to get Bob into the system for dialysis. And being off chemo for three more weeks would provide a good opportunity to begin that.

Our lives are full in so many ways--full of appointments, wonderful houseguests, nourishing times of solitude and togetherness, the support of such loving and faithful family and friends, and the constant presence of our loving heavenly Father.

You can be sure that the new posts to come in the next few days will be mostly pictures of our adorable grandkids!!!
